Summary
Highway and land development engineering, including interchange, street and roadway design, roadway alignments, roundabout design, striping and signing, curb ramp design, storm drainage, right-of-way, grading, drafting, improvement recommendations and analyses
Responsibilities
• Support project managers with roadway engineering projects
• Function as lead design engineer on all aspects of assigned roadway projects
• Development of construction plans
• Provide progress reports to clients
• Planning, conducting and/or coordinating detailed design and drafting
• Gather complete funding applicants for clients
• Maintain databases per project managers’ direction
• Research, write and edit technical reports and business correspondence
• Proposal assistance for marketing director as needed
• Field review and/or site visits or field work as required
• Attend project related meetings as required
• Perform all other related duties as assigned
Skills
• Oral and Written Communication
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, journals and government regulations.
• Ability to read reports, business correspondence and present information.
• Ability to multi-task and manage workload on various projects simultaneously.
• Awareness of importance to work within constraints of budgets and schedules
• Public Presentation Skills
• Math and Costing aptitude
• Familiarity with ODOT task order projects
• Computer Literacy to include AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Visual Basic Microsoft Office, MicroStation, Synchro and HCS
• Experience with Bentley MicroStation/Open Roads Design
Education/Training/Certification
• B.S. in Civil Engineering
• Continuing education, certifications and training paid for by TEC
Experience Needed
• Knowledge of highway and traffic engineering design principals and techniques and software needed to assist in design analysis
• 2-5 years on the job experience
Licenses
• Current FE license
