Head of Finance North America
Key opportunity
This is not a normal accounting role. At the core is of the role is the requirement that all the basics of finance are performed well, from working capital controls, balance sheet integrity, regulatory returns through to statutory and Board reporting. But this role is for someone who also wants to grow and who is prepared to be at the core of that growth, so involvement in the roll out of technology, analysis of customer cohorts and profitability, efficiency and control of logistics/warehousing operations are other areas where this role also needs to deliver. The role will be demanding but with that will come the satisfaction of building a terrific business, working with a team across the world that is already based on great global foundations.

The Role
Heading up the US finance team is a key global role actively supporting this growing market through providing understanding, analysis, forecasting and control over the US Company’s financial performance and position.
The role will work closely to support the CFO, and Group C Level staff in providing accurate, timely and complaint financial, balance sheet and cash flow reporting. The role will also ensure that the control environment is strong and ensure all statutory, tax and regulatory reporting returns are understood and delivered.
The candidate will support the US business and provide effective business partnering to back office, operations and sales functions to enhance performance and add value and control to the supply chain and logistics functions. This will require the person to get into the detail of our systems and our processes.
The right candidate will gain exposure to many different areas of the business involving interactions with our other global offices as well as providing support for the CFO when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Regulatory/Company secretarial/Banking returns
- US Budget and input into Strategic direction
- Balance Sheet and Cash flow forecast and reporting
- Financial modelling and support on business cases
- Effective Financial Controls
- Oversees key ops controls over cash and inventory
- Managing and leading the US Finance team
- US Tax compliance
- Technical Accounting
- Business partnering Sales, Ops, SC and DRSWI
- Internal Audit function
- Managing US External audit requirements

Skills & Competencies

- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and ability to learn new software applications and other computer/productivity tools. Familiarity with Oracle Netsuite or other ERP systems a must and WooCommerce a bonus
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years working in a senior Finance role preferably within an ecomm environment.
- People management
- Able to work autonomously and make decisions
- Good Technical knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
Education and Qualifications
- Degree preferred but not essential
- CPA
