Job Description:

The manager of strategic initiatives and special projects will work in partnership with the Vice President of Strategic Planning, Innovation, and Integration on the delivery of BILH BS’ strategic plan, special projects, proposals, and business development activities. The manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, execution, and delivery of enterprise projects and supporting the organization to achieve its priorities and goals. This position may involve working with different areas of the organization, such as IT, finance, billing, legal, risk, compliance, client services, and others to prepare and execute deliverables. This role will be responsible for fostering effective communication by serving as the primary liaison between leadership, their coordination team, and key stakeholders. The role will be responsible for performance management and oversight of their direct reports.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for orientation and onboarding colleagues to include training, coaching and development.
2. Authority to direct and support employees' daily work activities.
3. Responsible for undertaking the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action, and performance reviews.
4. Oversight of team and their assigned roles and responsibilities to include setting clear expectations and providing guidance and support throughout the assigned project, task and/or initiative lifecycle.
5. Encourages teamwork and building a collaborative work culture.
6. Manages reports on operational and fiscal data, key performance indicators, and other ad hoc metrics to support projects, proposals and initiatives.
7. Supports Vice President of Strategic Planning with purchase orders development, submission and tracking of expenses.
8. Responsible for managing and delegating all requests from leadership related to coordination activities for assigned initiatives and projects.
9. Manages multiple large and smaller complex projects/initiatives concurrently.
10. Partners with sponsors and team leaders to strategize project/initiative plans. Focuses on critical success factors, milestones and deliverables and develops contingency plans.
11. Leads meetings with direct reports and matrix stakeholders, including a review of action plans and tracking of milestones. Updates action plans weekly and prompts accountable individuals to ensure timely task completion.
12. Ensures timely and consistent communication of project/tasks priorities, status, timelines, and deliverables.
13. Evaluates the scope of assigned projects and initiatives to identify critical factors for the success completion and support of each.
14. Develops detailed work plans, timelines with clear milestones and workflows in support of concurrent projects and initiatives in partnership with leadership or sponsor.
15. Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation (repository), plans and reports and ensures traceability of activities.
16. Ensures standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance testing.
17. Manages centralized tools for concurrent project support to include shared calendars and productivity tools (I.e., Adobe, Design Platforms, Surveying Technology, Data Analytics etc...)
18. Manages the BILH BS credentialing workflow, documentation and process in partnership with HR, BILH CVO, and other credentialing entities across BILH.
19. Assists with application management and verification activities between BILH BS colleagues and the BILH CVO.
20. Monitors BILH BS colleague expiring credentials across BILH, as well as the reassessment of credential eligible colleagues.
21. Maintains and update credentials file(s) (paper and/or electronic as applicable), management of database entries for accuracy and completeness, and maintenance of electronic files as required.
22. Assists with scheduling BILH BS Credentialing committee, if applicable.
23. Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department or organization

Must have the ability to follow oral and written directions as they relate to the functions listed above. Must have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with Division leadership, staff, and external stakeholders. Must have the ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task workload in a fast-paced environment, handle confidential matters with discretion and maintain a professional demeanor. Ability and desire to work in a diverse and multicultural setting.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Organized with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and to consult with supervisor as needed
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to professionally interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Creative and Flexible
  • Proficient in standard operating system such as Windows, and application software such Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe professional

  • Ability to work in interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills
