GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reviews, interprets and collects clinical data from the medical record for local, national and international research studies. Abstracts clinical data to satisfy numerous HFHS/HAP quality initiatives: COE's, P4P, Utilization Review, System Registries, HEDIS, Risk Adjustment, NHSN Infection control, Hospital Acquired Conditions, CMS Core Measures, CMS HCC and Coding validation. Please note dollars at risk to HFHS/HAP exceeds thirty million dollars.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Associate degree in Health Information Management, plus one of the following credentials: RHIT, RHIA, CTR, CCRP. Bachelor's degree preferred. Two (2) years of experience as Research Abstract Analyst I. Must have a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access. Experienced in accessing web-based programs, for example email, internet, vendor-based software as Midas, Quantros, etc.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
One of the following credentials: RHIT, RHIA, CTR, CCRP.
