Summary: The Medical Oncologist is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients including conducting examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking and physical exams.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as imaging, labs, and biopsies to develop accurate diagnoses.
• Manage complex oncology and hematology cases, coordinating treatments such as surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy.
• Educate patients and families about disease progression, treatment options, side effects, and clinical trial opportunities.
• Monitor treatment responses and adjust plans as needed to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide symptom management and supportive care throughout the treatment journey.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including radiologists, pathologists, and palliative care specialists.
• Participate in tumor board discussions to evaluate challenging cases and refine treatment strategies.
• Contribute to clinical research, staying updated on advancements in oncology and hematology care.
• Interpret clinical and genomic data to guide personalized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Advocate for patient needs and preferences, ensuring compassionate and patient-centered care.
• Participate in developing and implementing evidence-based protocols and guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences throughout the treatment process.
• Facilitate communication between patients and other healthcare providers.
• Participate in tumor board discussions, collaborating with other providers to evaluate complex cases and optimize treatment strategies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
