Hitachi Energy is looking for innovative Software Developers with excellent coding skills to solve complex optimization problems and build and maintain electrical grid simulation engines. This role is responsible for designing, analyzing, developing and delivering advanced application for electric market simulation solution. Typical tasks assigned to Software Developers include analyzing requirements and creating technical design documents, designing and developing complex areas of the application, presenting best practices and designs to other team members, using analytical techniques and user experience strategies to effectively meet requirements.
Your responsibilities
- Design, develop, review, re-factor, and maintain software with quality and performance in mind.
- Collaborate on planning, development, and testing to meet “definition of done” criteria.
- Take initiative to identify issues and work collaboratively across teams to resolve problems.
- Ensuring code quality and following best software development practices like unit tests and code reviews
- Working in a cross-discipline team, using agile development methodology that requires active participation in all team’s activities, focusing on a common team goal
- Maintain and support legacy products
Your background
- Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Computer Science or any quantitative or relative field and a minimum 5 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of one or more modern programming languages (C#, C++, Java, etc.)
- Clear understanding of modern software development practices
- Able to demonstrate efficient coding skills of their language of choice
- Experienced on large scale code and production quality software
- Problem solving skills and analytical thinking
- Mathematical modeling experiences is a plus
- Linear Programming or Mixed Integer Programming by using Commercial Solvers such as XPRESS, GUROBI or CPLEX is a plus
- Some experience of Software development in Power Market is a plus
- Eager to learn programming languages and to solve complex problems
