Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Professionals work under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health and are responsible for providing confidential counseling services to American Express colleagues. The incumbent must comply with the Code of Ethics and the Standards of International Employee Assistants Professional Association and the Employee Assistance Certification Commission. Position is currently virtual with eventual return to office.
Responsibilities:
* Provides direct EAP services to colleagues in accordance with laws, guidelines, and standards; provides problem identification/assessment, short-term problem resolution, referral to outside resources, and case management for EAP referrals; provides crisis intervention and workplace mediation services; provides back-to-work services.
* Provides culturally sensitive services to a diverse population.
* Provides critical incident services as needed.
* Provides supervisory training on the use of the EAP.
* Facilitates support groups for colleagues with common interests/problems, as needed.
* Maintains confidential records on all clients through an electronic medical record.
* Maintains up-to-date information on and contacts with community resources.
* Provides mental health disability support.
* Provides a variety of trainings and workshops.
* Additional administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
* Certification or eligibility for certification as an EAP Professional.
* Master's degree in mental health field from an accredited college or university.
* Licensure or eligibility in a mental health field or equivalent.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to develop and deliver training for audiences of various sizes required.
* Ability to respond to crises and provide grief and loss services required.
* Must be able adapt to organizational culture, be comfortable working with colleagues at all levels, and provide leadership coaching.
* Prefer five years of comprehensive EAP experience with demonstrated competency in all core technology.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.
