Key Role:

Provide technical support to clients across the life cycle of building technologies innovation programs designed to save energy, provide support for the electric grid, offer resiliency, facilitate the integration of on site generation and storage, and increase the overall asset value. Analyze client funded innovation technology portfolios and research ideas to support the formulation of new program areas. Provide expert assessment or proposals to identify and translate user requirements in actionable program concepts suitable for public investment. Conduct expert benefit analysis of relevant technologies and identify the commercial utility of new products and support and document technical workshops, which engage key stakeholder groups in the formulation of new programs. Develop strategic and expert technical and management project plans and conduct expert technical analyses and assessments of client projects. Recommend and implement project technical and management plans appropriate for the size, scope, and complexity of each project and assist clients with regular technical oversight, monitoring, and progress assessment of ongoing projects, to be determined by comparing current progress to the plan, and providing constructive critical feedback to support project success. This position is a hybrid role with a combination of working at a Booz Allen office or client site and working remotely

Basic Qualifications:

2+ years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences on research to the design or synthesis of buildings technologies

2+ years of experience with postdoctoral, academic, or industry roles related to design or synthesis of advanced structural or insulating materials, sensors and controls, or building management systems

Ability to obtain a security clearance

Master's degree

Additional Qualifications:

Experience working in a consulting environment

Experience with techno-economic modeling or building energy modeling (BEM) systems, including EnergyPlus

Experience with life cycle assessments similar to emissions in the buildings sector

Ability to demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness when dealing with uncertainty and ask insightful questions that challenge traditional thinking

Ability to display flexibility and adaptability and be team-oriented

Possession of excellent data gathering, analytical, problem-solving, and client service skills

Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
