Position Summary

The HR Representative - 2nd shift is responsible for providing HR support and guidance to employees and managers during second-shift operations.

Position Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary HR contact for second-shift employees including but not limited to handling HR administrative tasks and supporting HR policies and programs.
• Act as a liaison between second-shift employees and day-shift management or HR teams.
• Provide on-the-spot HR support for employee questions/concerns (i.e. interpersonal conflicts, benefits questions, or work issues).
• Advise and assist employees on protocols to address employee relations matters.
• Assist with attendance issues, including explaining call-in procedures or handling no-call/no-show incidents.
• Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture and morale through HR visibility and engaging with the team members.
• Gather feedback from night shift workers to share with management for morale or process improvements.
• Ensure consistent enforcement of company policies and compliance with labor laws during second-shift operations.
• Assist supervisors with write-ups, corrective action documentation, and coaching plans.
• Assist with shift-specific HR projects, audits, and compliance initiatives.
• Help onboard new second-shift employees, including providing badges, uniforms, and safety training.
• Participate in shift-specific hiring events or interviews scheduled during or after normal business hours.
• Conduct new hire check-ins, making sure employees are settling in and have what they need.
• Plan and deliver shift engagement activities (i.e. Years of Service ceremonies, cook outs)
• Document incidents and violations that occur on the second shift, escalating them to senior HR as necessary.
• Prepare shift transition notes for first-shift HR reps so they can follow up as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
• 2–4 years in an HR role, with prior experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or shift-based environment strongly preferred.
• Must be proactive, people-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced, shift-based environment and can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Solid understanding of HR principles, labor regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Able to walk and stand, use arms and legs for long periods of time including wrist turning and finger manipulation.
• Employee stands frequently with tasks requiring consistent bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling to complete.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme temperature conditions.
• The noise levels at work are moderate to loud and hearing protection is required.
