The Manager of Programs oversees the operational success of their assigned program by ensuring seamless team management and development, program delivery, and quality control and evaluation to meet and manage budgets and schedules. This includes direction and implementation of a program of construction projects, ensuring consistency with department strategy, commitments, and goals. Create an environment that encourages creative thinking and supports calculated risk-taking. This is a leadership role and you will provide feedback to the organizational objectives and strategy while leading a team to achieve these goals.

You will report to the Director of Facility Asset Management.

Responsibilities

You Will:

  • Participate in department strategy development, manage team members, and build relationships with all partners
  • Hire, lead and retain experienced resources that reflect the diversity of our community and guests. Empower them to enhance their levels of responsibility, span-of-control, and performance
  • Ability to clearly communicate a direction and engage the team to work towards that vision. Includes formulating long-term plans, allowing people the space and feedback to develop themselves and adjust to changing situations
  • Lead teams to develop comprehensive designs that achieves stakeholder goals and provide creative solutions to maximize value while minimizing operational outages and finding delivery efficiencies. Make suggestions to lessen the operational impact and negotiate with operators to implement projects in the most cost-effective manner
  • Consider issues from a broad perspective seeing impact beyond immediate scope
  • Effectively influence others to support ideas and invites diverse points of view
  • Provide strategic input on project procurement and delivery to promote value through the contract process
  • Forecast, communicate, and proactively resolve scope, scheduling and budget issues in a transparent manner
  • Help navigate barriers associated with coordinating operational constraints and project goals. Keep executive management informed of issues that may become elevated
  • Knowledgeable in construction means and methods, relative to operational interface, to reduce potential conflicts. Champion the use of technology throughout project delivery. Direct progress on each project including initial planning, scope development, contracting, construction, and closeout, while maintaining leadership responsibility throughout the life cycle
  • Manage the program team, meeting all departmental guidelines and ensure team members understand the intent of executive decisions
  • Experience driving decisions with executive leaders across all project phases

Basic Qualifications

You Have:

  • 12+ years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management, or commercial facilities construction industry
  • Knowledge of construction methods and the ability to interpret design drawings and specs
  • Knowledge of construction and project management processes, and purchasing/contract management
  • Expertise with construction finance (budgets, cash flows, etc.)
  • 7+years of experience leading a team
  • Excellent facilitation skills and able to dynamically navigate complex conversations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving effective decision-making with executive leaders across all project phases.
  • Experience with multiple complex project portfolios while managing risks and constraints.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.

Preferred Education

  • MBA/Graduate Level Degree
  • Professional Engineer(PE) license
  • Project Management Professional(PMP) certification
