Junior Developer

Simple Technology Solutions (STS) is looking for a Junior Developer to add to our team. 

Quick overview:

• This position is full-time & remote, with the possibility of occasional travel


• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance are required


• A Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years’ position-related experience is required

The Role

In this role, we are looking for a strong technical leader with demonstrable experience developing software/applications, using modern java frameworks (such as Java SpringBoot), and familiarity with AWS cloud services and architecture. The ideal candidate has experience in object-oriented methodologies, design patterns, microservices, streaming technologies, database design, and data modeling. To succeed in this role, one must be familiar with front and back-end languages, databases, and DevOps. Experience leading a team of developers in designing and delivering cloud-based, continuously deployed client solutions. To succeed as an STS team member, one must be collaborative, have a desire for (and commitment to) life-long learning, and be comfortable working on an Agile team.

The Junior Developer at STS will: 

• Works primarily as a developer and brings experience using tools and frameworks to develop solutions that meet client requirements.


• As part of a cross-functional Agile team, the Developer coordinates with team members to follow best practices, plan work, and communicate with the client on progress.


• Design, Develop and implement Java-based enterprise solutions to meet client requirements.


• Support quality development practices, including test-driven development.


• Employ the values and principles of Agile development as part of an Agile DevSecOps team.


• Actively participate in improving the code base by performing code reviews.

Experience & Education:

Required

• US Citizenship


• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of Software/Application experience with the following Tech Stacks: 


• JAVA/Spring Boot


• React.js/Postgres (AWS RDS)


• Experiences working within Agile Frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban


• Experience working using JIRA


• Must have experience working on a (relational database management system) RDBMS like SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL


• Proficient in creating reasonable and accurate time estimates for assigned tasks 


• Excellent communication skills to be able to interact directly with non-technical client stakeholders and act in a business-to-technical translation role, including generating compelling visualizations

• Active/Current DHS-USCIS Entry on Duty (EOD) Clearance/Investigation


• AWS Certification(s) a plus


• Java Certification(s) a plus


• Python Certification(s) a plus
