Architectural Services Sales Consultant


The Architectural Services Consultant will promote Allegion’s professional door hardware specification services by working closely and collaboratively with the architectural and design community.


In addition to securing specification writing opportunities, this individual will identify additional sales opportunities by challenging our competitor’s specifications.


The Architectural Services Consultant will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with key architectural and design firms as well as promoting Allegion’s extensive product portfolio and our additional value-add design services.


A high level of project coordination will be required, including coordination of Division 8 door hardware with Division 28 electronic access control solutions, and ensuring code compliance.


What You Will Do :


Proactively develop relationships with industry design professionals to increase demand for Allegion’s products and services.


Identify target accounts; create and manage strategic account objectives to drive both short term and long term growth.


Responsible for architectural education including AIA Lunch and Learns, and actively networking within the industry.


Identify project opportunities by utilizing lead databases, research, and by leveraging industry relationships.


Secure specification writing opportunities, including identifying opportunities to challenge competitor specifications.


Execute Consulting Agreements on key projects, including identifying the scope of work, project deliverables and timeline, and preparing and pricing the proposal.


Collaborate closely with the local sales team on specification projects and during market coordination meetings.



Maintain excellent industry and competitor product knowledge, and adapt to changes in the marketplace.


Maintain awareness of all Allegion policies, guidelines, and procedures and ensure compliance.


What You Need to Succeed :


High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred


Minimum of 5 years sales experience, preferably in a business development role; industry / architectural experience is preferred


Ability to travel up to 20% within the territory, limited overnight travel


Basic understanding of security systems integrations and electronic components


Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Proficient with business tools such as Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and CRM.


Demonstrated experience influencing others with a bias for action


Strong customer service focus
