Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Per Diem
The Club Health & Rehabilitation Center, The Villages, FL
The per diem Speech-Language Pathologist will provide speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing therapy services to patients in an in-house subacute rehabilitation setting. The role focuses on improving the quality of life for individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough evaluations of speech, language, and swallowing functions in patients.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results, patient goals, and physician recommendations.
• Provide direct therapy services to patients of various age groups, with a focus on subacute and post-acute care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and physicians, to optimize patient care.
• Document and track patient progress using electronic health records (EHR) and ensure accurate, timely reporting of therapy sessions.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about speech and language disorders and techniques to support rehabilitation progress.
• Modify therapeutic activities based on patient progress and needs, ensuring consistency in treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, facility policies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid and current Speech-Language Pathology license in the state of Florida.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting, preferably with subacute or post-acute patients.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work per diem shifts, including weekends or evenings, as needed.
