Essential Job Functions:
• Deliver exceptional patient care through thorough examinations, accurate diagnostics, and effective treatment plans tailored to each pet's needs.
• Adopt a structured problem-based approach in diagnosing and treating patients, ensuring meticulous documentation in medical records.
• Perform a variety of surgical procedures, including spays/neuters and complex dental work.
• Develop comprehensive treatment plans for hospitalized patients and collaborate with referral hospitals to ensure continuity of care.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
• Engage in collaborative rounds with team members.
• Share knowledge with staff to elevate the standard of care and improve communication.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.
Nature of Supervision:
Veterinarians work under the guidance of the Hospital Medical Leader or Area Medical Director, maintaining high standards while having the autonomy to make clinical decisions.
Impact:
This role significantly contributes to the growth and quality standards of our practices, fostering a well-trained, motivated team that ensures patient well-being and customer satisfaction.
Education/Experience:
• DVM or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school.
• Active veterinary license in the respective state.
• Current DEA and Controlled Substance licenses.
• USDA Category I Accreditation or willingness to obtain within two months of hire.
• Comfortable with anesthesia and routine surgeries.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Compassionate demeanor, able to handle stressful situations professionally.
• Proficient with technology and a team player open to learning.
Work Environment:
This position primarily takes place in a full-service veterinary hospital, requiring physical stamina for standing, lifting, and engaging with clients and pets.
