JOB DESCRIPTION:


Responsible for applying business knowledge and human resources expertise. This position plays a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, onboarding, terminations, performance management, employee relations, payroll and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and management. This position will assist both Berg Holdings and Biomerics Interventional Medical Plastics.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Field or related discipline

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in Human Resources

  • Knowledge in California HR policies and procedures

  • Knowledge and good understanding of California labor laws

  • Strong knowledge of hiring processes

  • Understanding of HR best practices and current California regulations

  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills

  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Administer and coordinate health, dental, life, 401k, etc. benefits, including coordinating with employees on FMLA or Work-Related illness absences for reimbursement of insurance premiums. Carrier and broker relationships, annual enrollment, reporting, and billing

  • Assist employees with open enrollment, benefit questions and payroll related issues.

  • Processes bi-weekly payroll.

  • Partner with Corporate HR to complete wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate(s).

  • Manage the full cycle recruitment process including sourcing, engagement, pre-screening, schedule interviews and facilitate offers.

  • Coaches Managers and Supervisors in proper employee relations resolutions, including documented coaching and disciplinary action.

  • Support the HR department in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience.

  • Onboard new employees and maintain employee records including management of I-9 forms and ensure compliance.

  • Manages off boarding process including preparing employee separation notices and related documentation, network access termination and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

  • Partner with safety to document employee safety training as required by OSHA.

  • Participates in employee events planning and safety committee meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Desired Qualifications:



  • Experience in processing payroll

  • California HR certifications (PHRca, CalSHRM)
