Duties Description
The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is seeking to hire an Office Aide within the Finance Bureau - Travel Unit. The position will be responsible for a variety of travel-related functions which will include:




  • Processing, entering, and submitting travel expense reports for selected NYS Parks employees in the Statewide Financial System, ensuring that correct forms and receipts are attached per NYS travel guidelines.
  • Checking the progress of each submitted expense report daily for payment in the Statewide Financial System.
  • Process vouchers for Non-Employee travel reimbursements.
  • Audit and analyze expense reports in the Statewide Financial System ensuring the Business
Services Center (BSC), the Office of the State Comptroller (OSC) and NYS Parks travel policies are being followed.

  • Assist travelers with questions and concerns regarding submission and entry of expense reports in the Statewide Financial System.
  • Analyze travel card applications, confirming the appropriate information is stated so the BSC can process the travel card in a timely and effective manner.
  • Update the employee’s data in the Statewide Financial System using the documentation given on the completed travel card application.
  • Generate the NYS Parks travel card aging report at least once a week through the Statewide Financial System.
  • Analyze and disperse the appropriate information from the travel card aging report to the Regional Business Officer’s, so the traveling employees are aware of outstanding transactions that need to be reconciled.
  • Assist the Travel Unit Supervisor with tasks as needed.
