Virginia Tax’s Office of Business Support Services is seeking a Business Analyst for their Tax Processing team. In this position, you will provide business and functional support for the Agency’s electronic filing and payment systems.
Anticipated hiring range is commensurate with experience, up to $60,000.
This position is located in Richmond, VA at our Westmoreland Street location.
Telework options are available for this position.

Virginia Tax, headquartered in Richmond, is responsible for administering 37 state and local taxes, sales and use taxes, and miscellaneous excise taxes with integrity, efficiency, and consistency. Virginia Tax works directly with individual and business taxpayers and local governments to ensure the Commonwealth’s revenue is collected and taxes administered with fairness, diligence, and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience serving as an analyst supporting an application system
- Ability to understand technical issues and how they affect an application
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience writing business requirements for application programs
- Experience testing software applications
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree in business, management, or related Field
Special Requirements
All Virginia Tax employees must be current with filing their tax returns ensuring they were filed in compliance with established laws, rules and regulations. Selected candidate(s) will be required to consent to and successfully pass a background investigation which includes fingerprint-based criminal history, tax compliance, and DMV driving record (if applicable) checks.
