Lyndon Institute is seeking to hire a full time Visual Arts Teacher for our 2022/2023 School Year. Responsibilities include: - Classroom management, curriculum development, plan lessons, record and grade student progress, and give students the necessary artistic tools to express themselves through various art skills, media, and techniques- Oversee basic, intermediate, and advanced art classes for grades 9-12- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Capacity to supervise group work - Outstanding planning and problem-solving skills- Available to volunteer as needed during school, athletic and dormitory events- Attend faculty, open house, and parent-teacher meetings- Follow 504 and IEPs for students in your classes- Display student artwork in school art gallery and main building display case- Enter students in local, state, and national art contests, such as: Congressional Art Exhibit, National Federal Junior Duck Stamp contest and VFW Patriotic Art contestRequirements include: - Bachelor's degree in Art or Art Education with teaching qualification or equivalent- Prior experience as an art teacher- Demonstrate excellence in a variety of art techniques which should align with classes taught at Lyndon Institute: Introduction to Studio Art ( basic drawing techniques ) Water-base Painting Acrylic and Oil painting Analogue Photography Digital photography Ceramics and sculpture Printmaking Advanced Art Honors Advanced Placement Studio Art 2-D Design and Drawing- Participate in mentoring program- Shadow an advisory group in preparation for having own advisory in future teaching years- Oversee and run the National Art Honor Society
