JOB SUMMARY
This position performs service, repair, and maintenance on HVAC systems in a residential and light commercial setting.They will provide exceptional customer service and educates customers regarding technical and investment decisions by providing multiple options and solutions while making service calls in customers’ homes.
JOB DUTIES
- Services, repairs, and/or proposes replacement of gas furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, electric furnaces, packaged terminal units, ductless split systems, humidification and dehumidification equipment, electronic air cleaners and air purification systems.
- Assesses systems and assists the customer in making a buying decision through detailed education of current system needs as well as a thorough cost/benefit analysis of purchasing a new system.
- Determines general condition of HVAC systems, and can troubleshoot HVAC malfunctions and determine extent of necessary repairs
- Troubleshoots, adapts, and resolves/repairs all issues to keep equipment functioning properly.
- Evaluates each system after service/repair is complete to ensure the system is functioning properly.
- Performs proper inspection of customer's system to prevent future issues.
- Explains each service and repair performed to customers.
- Accurately documents:
- Age and type of each system component on invoices.
- Services completed.
- Discussion with customer regarding current and/or future equipment/service requirements.
- Invoices and cost for service.
- Debriefs service call with dispatch after each service call or completes online job summary as requested.
- Turns in all parts receipts, packing slips, contracts, and invoices daily.
- Always maintains a professional image by:
- Wearing only company approved and provided One Hour apparel.
- Following safety policies and procedures.
- Abiding by ALL One Hour standards of performance and code of ethics.
- Maintaining a courteous demeanor with all customers and associates.
- Respecting the customer’s property by always maintaining a neat work area and inspects that area for cleanliness after completion of each job.
- Wears floor savers while in the client’s home
- Participates in ALL company sponsored training classes.
- Assists in mentoring and training maintenance technicians.
- Conveys a safety-conscious attitude, both on the job and while driving
- Maintains company vehicle, ensuring that it is always clean on both the inside and the outside
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have prior, successful experience as a Technician in the HVAC industry, 5+ years
- NATE certification preferred
- Must display strong communication skills and technical competence
- Ability to pass a thorough background check and drug screen
- Clean driving record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Climbing, heavy lifting, loud noise, crawling, working in confined spaces, pushing/pulling, carrying equipment, bending, turning, kneeling.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units.
- Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
- Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
