About the position
The Material Handler at voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak is responsible for loading and unloading materials for inbound and outbound trucks, organizing and cataloging materials, and picking materials for production jobs. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the logistics and production processes within the company, which is a leader in rail solutions with a commitment to safety, quality, and employee development.
Responsibilities
• Load and unload material for inbound or outbound trucks.
,
• Move, log, organize, and catalogue material.
,
• Pick material for production jobs.
,
• Follow work orders, pick lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documents.
,
• Calculate weight of parts and shipments.
,
• Read and follow production schedule.
,
• Safely operate jib and overhead cranes.
,
• Safely operate powered industrial truck.
,
• Work with little supervision.
,
• Adhere to Nortrak's Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies.
,
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• High School graduate or GED preferred.
,
• Forklift and Crane certification preferred.
,
• Ability to read work orders, pick lists, bills of lading, and shipping documents.
,
• Ability to utilize a tape measure down to at least a 1/16th.
,
• Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
