The North American Inventory Fleet Operations team is responsible for optimizing our operating fleet of Service Loaner, Display, and Demo Drive Vehicles. The team goal is to effectively implement our allocation and utilization strategies to provide an incredible customer experience while minimizing operating costs.


In this role, you will manage the allocation and health of our Service and Sales Fleet. You will work cross-functionally across the company to resolve blockers to vehicle activation and utilization, and function as the primary HQ point of contact for all Sales and Service vehicle challenges for our Sales, Service and Delivery field teams. As a part of a collaborative team operating in a fast paced, evolving environment, you will help set up and implement processes to ensure optimal utilization of the Service and Sales Fleet


The location of this role is flexible. The right candidate can work from any Tesla Sales, Service or Delivery Location



  • Lead cross-departmental operations across multiple stakeholders to optimize vehicle allocations, activations, and utilization for Tesla to create the best customer experience at low cost

  • Function as the primary point of contact for Sales and Service Fleet vehicle users (Location Managers, Service Advisors, Sales Advisors, etc.) to coordinate vehicle allocations and ensure appropriate utilization

  • Provide prompt and collaborative communications with field employees, serving as their headquarters partner for all vehicle needs.

  • Manage a daily case and email queue to answer field member requests while maintaining a strong SLA

  • Partner with the DMV team to ensure that we are seamlessly and efficiently managing vehicle registration to ensure optimal utilization of all vehicles

  • Partner with Sales and Service Managers at a location level to review underutilized vehicle allocations and rectify blockers preventing vehicle use

  • Build tools to educate and onboard field teams on ideal Operating Fleet processes

  • Take responsibility for improving and maintaining vehicle data within our internal systems

  • Contribute to Service and Sales Fleet related digital developments

  • Work cross functionally with multiple business partners including service field teams, sales and service leadership, digital products team, sales operations, finance, accounting, logistics, and registration

  • Aide in auditing and tracking down internally assigned vehicles, freeing up Finished Goods Inventory for sale and assisting with periodic physical inventory Fleet Audits

  • Create ad-hoc analysis, reports and dashboards as business needs arise

  • Take on additional responsibilities as necessary when new business needs arise

  • Minimum 3 years related allocation, retail planning or decision-driving analytical role.

  • Aptitude to quickly learn new systems/technical applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to form solid relationships cross-functionally.

  • Strong quantitative critical thinking skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and retail math concepts.

  • Experience with business intelligence software (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) is a plus.

  • Enthusiasm and aptitude for working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high degree of ambiguity.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand despite changes in work scope or focus.

  • Open-minded, collaborative and team-oriented attitude with the ability to think outside the box for solutions to complex challenges.

  • Passion for Tesla's products and belief in Tesla's mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy
