These include non-expendable, closed loop packaging for the Automotive, Service, and Energy organizations. The role will report to our Supply Chain Group Manager and in parallel be an active procurement resource supporting various Engineering groups within Tesla. She/he will be a member of our Supply Chain Organization supporting the development, implementation, and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. The Global Supply Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. They work toward good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla. Tesla is a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The successful candidate will be a self-starter; motivated with expert overall Sourcing ExpertiseWhat You’ll Do·       Understand detailed business requirements of different groups to develop returnable packaging solutions·       Build technical knowledge of Tesla Packaging programs across in-scope organizations and related supply base·       Develop strong stakeholder support and coordination between the Business, Packaging Engineers, and end users·       Pre-qualify suppliers by assessing their financial credibility, capability, expertise, and capacity to serve·       Synthesize supplier, industry, and market research for assigned commodities to develop sourcing strategy·       Own, develop & Issue RFx (RFI, RFQ, and RFP) for sourcing packaging designs and material in close coordination with internal Packaging Engineering Teams.·       Review, analyze and clarify bid packages received from suppliers.
