The Opportunity
The Senior Business Analyst ITS engages with several departments throughout the university to learn policies, and translates our requirements into system changes/functional specifications and develop efficiencies/solutions. The Senior Business Analyst ITS works as a liaison between the ITS department and other units. You will work on projects, leads discussions to translate our requirements into system changes/functional specifications, and facilitates conversations to identify potential solutions. Also, You will test and validation of solutions delivering on the approved requirements allowing the desired outcomes. Additionally, you may provide project management support and act as a project leader on multiple university wide programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and perform scoping, requirements definition and prioritization activities using selected methods and tools (predictive, agile).
- Conduct interviews and facilitate group sessions with business and technology partners to elicit, analyze, and document requirements.
- Document all aspects of our requirements using best practices for artifacts such as process models, use cases, epics, user stories, impact analysis, completion criteria, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Establish the our requirements baseline and ensure changes are investigated and managed.
- Document and manage requirements traceability matrix and confirm solution meets requirements.
- Use advanced modeling techniques to produce diagrams, models, and prototypes that illustrate system and data relationships, and business process flows for both our states.
- Analyze the our requirements and validate potential solutions/approaches with business and technical staff to identify potential improvements in functionality and processes, and ways that technology can help to achieve organizational goals.
- Support business and technical partners in all aspects of testing including test script development, acceptance criteria, integration testing, test data creation, user acceptance testing.
- Provide consultative support to partners to help them to achieve desired changes and outcomes.
- Guide and support the transition of solutions from a development to a production/operational status.
- You will Facilitate conversations between functional and technical teams to ensure common and understanding of our needs and solution capabilities to achieve better outcomes.
- You will participate in dialog with vendors and SNHU staff to understand vendor solutions and obligations, confirm vendor offerings, and monitor vendor performance towards SNHU requirements.
- You will collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, QA and other team members to advise and help with all phases of the software/system development lifecycle.
- Provide standards of excellence in all documentation and training to team members tailored for specific audience and purpose.
- You will work with project manager, partners and peers to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities and resolve areas of confusion or overlap to ensure teams.
- You will perform the project manager role together with the business analyst role on sized requests or projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Years of relevant or specific experience: 7+ years' experience in business process management, application development, or data management.
- Academic Degree(s) and/ areas of study: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or related field.
Equivalent of experience in lieu of degree acceptable: Yes No
- Professional Certification(s): CCBA, CBAP or PMI-PBA.
- Understand interdependencies between business systems transactional and data models to propose system changes and troubleshoot production issues which impact business operations.
- Project management experience and familiarity with project management methodologies (predictive, agile).
- Experience with software/system development lifecycle and integration.
- Experience with current technology, business applications, and data models used for functional transactions, operations and business reporting.
- You will use collaborative communication and leadership skills.
- Analysis skills with experience implementing complex solutions balancing cost-benefit, security, extensibility, interoperability, manageability, and other important organizational considerations.
- You will be proficient in process modeling techniques including UML diagramming.
- You will document our requirements and test specifications.
We would like to see:
- Master's degree in relevant field.
- Experience in relevant IT or business domain role(s) and at least five years in lead business analyst role.
- Experience with cloud-based environments such as Microsoft Azure, Salesforce.com, ServiceNow.
- Experience with agile software development methods.
- Three years' experience in higher education industry software systems.
