Wynns Family Psychology
Cary, NC
FULL_TIME, PART_TIME, CONTRACTOR
Wynns Family Psychology is seeking to hire a clinical psychologist/ therapist for part-time or full-time) in the following locations (as well as some virtual hours):
Cary, NC
Raleigh, NC
Fuquay Varina, NC
As an independent contractor, you are able to set your own schedule (please note that certain offices only have availability on certain days). If you would like, you can also split your time between the various locations. At this time, most of our providers are seeing clients in-person, although telehealth is also available as needed/ preferred. As a child-teen practice, we need providers who are able and willing to see clients during “primetime” after school hours including later afternoon and evenings (until 7 or 8pm). Weekends are available too! We currently have specific needs for clinicians who enjoy working with younger children and/or couples.
Who Are We?
WFP is an award-winning speciality child and adolescent practice with multiple locations in North Carolina. Over the course of WFP’s 17 years of business, we have been committed to our mission of providing the highest quality therapy and assessment services. We also have a niche focused on providing therapy and evaluation services (including custody evaluations) for divorced or divorcing parents or individuals involved in the court system.
We are passionate about working with children and teens, and their parents. We meet our clients where they are at and want them to feel welcomed, accepted, and inspired to change- acknowledging that change sometimes comes in “baby steps” and is hard!
We also believe it’s important that individuals joining our team understand what WFP stands for:
W*hole Person. *At WFP, we believe you can achieve balance and satisfaction with your family, work, spiritual development, physical health, and relationships. We strive to model self-care to our clients, and value having staff members who feel they can “have it all!”
F*riendship, Family, Fun, and F*aith.
Friendships developed between our staff members are one of the best parts of our
practice. These friendships start by joking with and encouraging each other in between clients, and grow to deepen and strengthen outside of the walls of WFP.
We believe we are always treating and helping the whole family – even if our client is just one member of the family. Family is the core of who we serve. We also believe in making time to invest in strengthening our own families at home.
We laugh a lot here. Laughter, humor, and pranks are what make coming to work at WFP fun! We understand the healing effects of humor and laughter in session, and also the stress relief it provides outside of session. Fun with each other outside of the office is part of what makes us a strong, united team!
WFP was founded on a leap of faith and prayer. Dr. Wynns’ faith and trust in God is at the core of everything she does and who she is. While not all clients or staff will be believers, Dr. Wynns believes in sharing God’s love by welcoming ALL clients to WFP - regardless of race, culture, gender, or sexuality.
Praise
We generously give praise and thank you’s, compliments, shout outs, hugs, and green sofa acknowledgements! We strive for excellence in our client care, staff interactions, and in the quality of our work. We know mistakes happen, and acknowledge we have a steep learning curve. We value WFPeeps who acknowledge mistakes, apologize, and aim to keep growing.
Although we have a variety of clinicians on staff, with a variety of backgrounds, experience, and areas of expertise, here are the key characteristics:
• You Take Pride In Your Work. Everyone at WFP is working towards the larger mission of providing high quality services to the families we serve. This means you genuinely care about your clients and also demonstrate your commitment to their care not only during the therapy session, but also in the aftercare. Clinicians who are organized, detailed-oriented, able to work independently, yet collaborate as needed, tend to do well in our private practice. You also have the ability to choose what your caseload mix looks like (therapy, groups, or testing (as applicable)).
• You Have a Commitment to Learning and Growing. We believe that learning is an ongoing process. We want clinicians who are also committed to enhancing their knowledge base, as well as demonstrating a growth mindset and are open to feedback. We also invite you to give us feedback in a variety of ways- we want to continue to grow too! We also have a variety of ways to support a clinician’s growth in a way that fits them such as offering supervision, holding diversity training, joining the leadership team, providing community training/ presentations, building out your niche, and more!
• You Like to Have Fun and Connect. We know the work we do is hard (and it’s really really hard some days). It’s important that WFP clinicians are able to balance those tough days with good ones and we look for individuals who seek to acknowledge the positives and try to connect/ support one another. Throughout the year, we offer a variety of fun events like after-work socials (some family-friendly), Pumpkin Wars, volunteering in the community, surprise treats delivered to the office, self-care pop ups, and more! We also want to celebrate (with) you and support you! Have exciting news in your personal life and want to share? Great! Let us know! Traveled somewhere cool? Awesome! Hope you’ll share pics!
• You Know How to Hold and Respect Boundaries. Since we also place a premium on creating and maintaining a positive work environment, we look for clinicians who demonstrate professionalism and maintain a focus on constructive communication, avoiding gossip and inappropriate venting to their coworkers. We are also thankful that our positive reputation has resulted in a number of referrals over the years, which means if you are able to retain a caseload, we are able to fill it. However, that also means you need to be willing and able to communicate with us when your caseload is “full” and to stick to your boundaries (Hello work-life balance!). If you find you struggle to say “no,” let us know and we are happy to give you some pointers!
While our fee split is not the highest in the area, it is also not the lowest. As WFP is out of network for all insurance companies, we are able to set fees which allows our providers to be compensated at a rate that is fair and highly competitive for practices (with the take-home pay per hour/ session on the high end). We continuously evaluate our rates and continuously look to find ways to better support our staff while staying competitive with the current market.
We offer our clinicians a ton of support including access to monthly peer supervisions, peer mentors when you are first starting out, diversity training, lunch and learns, and access to an expansive electronic library full of resources, templates, videos, and referral sources. We want you to succeed and reach your personal career and financial goals.
Our leadership team is here to support you and help answer any questions you might have from logistical questions to clinical case consultations.
We have an admin team that is made up of some awesome individuals who want to assist you with logistical aspects of the job (paperwork, scheduling, payments) so you can focus on providing your best clinical care.
We know that there is a lot you are considering as you make your decision about what’s best for you. We also know that was a lot you just read about us and hope it gives you a taste of what you can expect as a clinician at WFP. To summarize, we are looking for clinicians who are genuinely committed to providing high quality services to kids, teens, and their families and are excited about being part of a practice that continues to grow. We want to bring on clinicians who are committed to learning, want to plant roots at the practice, and want to be part of a team. If you feel you could see yourself working and thriving at WFP- apply! We would love to meet you!
