About the position
The 3rd Grade Elementary Teacher at Ethel Boyes Elementary is responsible for delivering the curriculum and maximizing student achievement. The role involves creating a conducive learning environment, planning individualized programs of study, and assessing student progress. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents while maintaining high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.

• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
,
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals.
,
• Employs instructional methods and materials appropriate to the teaching assignment.
,
• Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required.
,
• Collaborates with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basis.
,
• Assists administration in implementing policies governing student life and conduct.
,
• Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and maintains order in a fair manner.
,
• Plans and supervises assignments for classroom paraprofessionals and volunteers.
,
• Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
,
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
,
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees as requested.

• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
,
• Accepts reasonable student supervision assignments for safe management of the school.

• Designs lesson plans as instructional aids and provides directions for substitutes when absent.

• Seeks opportunities for professional growth.

• Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
Requirements
• Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate endorsed for appropriate levels and subjects.

• Highly qualified status.

• Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public.
