POSITION: Summer Program Team Leader


Position is for 7 weeks


Week 1: Orientation 6/27/22-6/28/22, 8:30a-2:30p, 6/29/22: 8:30a-12:30p


Week 2-week 7: Summer Program (Monday-Thursday) 7/5/22-8/11/22, 8:15a-2:45p


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - The Team Leader is responsible for providing oversight & direction to counselors and students assigned to 5 or more classrooms including program activities & documentation for ACHIEVE Summer Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


1) Supervise & mentor 15-20 counselors.


  • Conduct weekly team meetings with counselors.

  • Provide training, direction & oversight of counselors/classrooms.

  • Develop lesson plans.

  • Complete performance evaluations on each counselor.


2) In conjunction with program counselors, supervise and mentor 45-55 students with special needs.


3) Ensure that counselors are completing program documentation in a timely & accurate manner.


4) Complete incident/accident reports on students/counselors as required. Responsible for complying with all Part 635, Part 671, Part 624 and Part 633 regulations in total, and reporting violations, deficiencies, and/or incidents to direct supervisor as they are discovered or indicated.


5) Assist with coordination and supervision on field trips & special activities.


6) Electronically submit attendance.


7) Serve as primary contact for communication with parents to inquire about any unreported absences or report incidents & problems.


8) Assist with handling of student behaviors.


9) Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Must hold certification as a teacher through New York State or Pennsylvania.

  • Must be able to obtain & maintain certification in CPR, First Aid and SCIP.
