• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges encountered during the transformation process.
• Collaborate closely with molecular biology, gene editing, and product development teams to ensure seamless integration of transformed materials into downstream applications.
• Maintain meticulous records of experiments, analyze data, and present findings to internal stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in plant transformation technologies and actively propose their adoption.
• Mentor and potentially manage junior team members as our capabilities expand.
Qualifications
• Degree in Plant Molecular Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related field.
• 7-10+ years of hands-on experience in plant genetic engineering, with a strong preference for direct experience with soybean transformation.
• Demonstrated experience at companies doing relevant seed engineering, including a deep understanding of industry best practices and quality control standards.
• Expertise in stably expressing exogenous genes in plants and validating transgene integration and expression.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with high-throughput transformation systems.
• Familiarity with intellectual property considerations in agricultural biotechnology.
