Medical Coder

Covenant Community Care, a faith based charitable non-profit Community Health Center serving the people of Metro Detroit, has an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Biller and Coder. Primary duties include: patient and third party billing, remittance advice and payment processing, problem resolution, statement processing, old balance review, and account inquiries.Successful candidates with at least one year of dental or medical billing experience is preferred. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance programs is essential. Experience in the use and review of electronic health records is a requirement. Strong computer, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally, by phone and in written formats are necessary.Preferred Skills and Qualifications:CPC certification or equivalent is required.At least one year of experience is required.Knowledge of HIPAA privacy requirementsBasic understanding of ICD-10, CPT4,  HCPCS and CDT codes is a requirement.Covenant Community Care offers a generous full-time benefits package, including BCBS/BCN healthcare insurance, dental and vision care, paid short term and long term disability, paid life insurance as well as nine paid holidays and paid vacation, sick, and personal days off annually.
