About the position
The Administrative Assistant II position at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville is designed to provide essential support to the Student Access and Academic Success department, specifically focusing on Multicultural Student Affairs, International Programs, and the McNair Scholars Program. This full-time role involves managing communications, providing customer service, and assisting with various administrative tasks to enhance the operational efficiency of the department.
Responsibilities
• Send, receive, copy, and distribute communications according to established policies and procedures.
,
• Collect, analyze, and prepare various communication materials utilizing technology mediums.
,
• Schedule appointments for staff and maintain staff office hours.
,
• Maintain department spaces including computer labs, lounges, and the Multifaith Space.
,
• Schedule logistics and secure resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations.
,
• Order supplies as necessary for the various departments.
,
• Assist with departmental deposits and transfers, monitor accounts, and maintain departmental blanket order accounts.
,
• Support staff with campus-wide events by creating brochures, notices, and other materials.
,
• Handle event logistics such as reservations, speaker arrangements, refreshments, and accommodations.
,
• Work with student employees by assisting with completion of required documents and providing guidance on timekeeping processes.
,
• Maintain established methods and organizational systems for electronic/physical records related to work operations.
,
• Create and maintain good working relationships with other UW-Platteville departments.
Requirements
• High School Diploma/GED
,
• Minimum of one year experience working as an office assistant.
,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general technology skills.
,
• Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with diverse populations.
,
• Willingness and ability to quickly learn new policies and procedures.
,
• Strong attention to detail.
,
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
,
• Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
