Job Description

As an intern on a small data team, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of our business such as developing and deploying models in Python, transforming data in DBT, and implementing new business metrics. There are numerous opportunities to have an impact on the team and if you spy an improvement, there is no project off-limits. You’ll work across the organization with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Continually improve the quality and quantity of our data in Redshift by communicating with stakeholders and implementing new DBT models.

  • Maintain existing data science applications and improve code that powers our machine learning models. For example, classify a suite of products with NLP methods or figure out complimentary products via collaborative filtering in a recommender system.

  • Suggest new methods and tools to improve the quality of the data delivered to stakeholders and communicate results to the business team. As a start-up we are always looking for new ways to make our data cleaner and more accessible.

  • Look for opportunities to make processes more efficient with automation via code.

  • Maintain and improve current dashboards based on analytics and product needs.

  • Undergraduate or graduate level student in an analytical discipline, such as mathematics, statistics, economics, physics, computer science, business analytics, or other related fields.

  • Must haves: Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database management systems. Prior exposure to DBT is a plus, but not required as long as there’s a willingness to learn.

  • Experience with a general purpose programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, Go, C or a statistical programming language such as R is preferred, but not required.

  • Problem solver who loves to dig into different kinds of data and can communicate their findings to stakeholders in different departments.

  • Ability to operate independently when needed, taking a project from start to finish with minimal supervision by taking initiative to get things done.

Additional Information

What You’ll Get (Our Benefits)

  • A competitive compensation package including stock options

  • Robust medical, dental, vision, and wellness benefits

  • Flexible time off and remote work policies

  • Employer-sponsored 401(k)
