Immediate need for a Senior Product Development Engineer for a leading Manufacturer in Atlanta, Georgia.
Job Description:
- Working on ideas as part of a team, both cross-disciplinary and with team members in our other locations (China and USA based teams)
Converting product needs, to technical product concepts, to CAD models (Solidworks) and technical drawings that can be transferred directly to the R&D team in China for sampling and testing.
Attend or arranging meetings and cooperate with other engineers and other departments, including design and marketing, to discuss and negotiate appropriate production processes, costs and commercial issues where needed.
Occasionally travelling to production facilities and evaluating the feasibility of production
Keeping yourselves and colleagues informed of relevant developments in the field, integrating the latest technical developments within working methods, standards, and norms into projects.
Required Skills:
- Due to the high cooperation between the design and production departments, you need to be a strong communicator, with a pragmatic and creative mindset.
Knowledge of SolidWorks and the ability to model complex parts.
General knowledge of injection molding, die casting, sheet metal stamping and machining is necessary, as well as other industry related industrial processes, techniques, and standards
The ability to cope with the pressure of deadlines
Determination to achieve a result, and optimism and enthusiasm when things don't go to plan. (To be able to turn failure within the design process to a positive result)
Required Qualifications:
- Previous working experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Product Engineer for at least five years
BA or MA in Mechanical Engineering or similar relevant field
Strong command of the English language is a must
