Our client in Richmond, VA is in immediate need of a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical systems related to sheet metal fabricated enclosures. An understanding of engineering principles, the design of structures to support mechanical equipment, and rotating machines are common applications.
Role and Responsibilities:
Support the mechanical engineering effort within product development and mechanical systems design
Implement procedures, specification sheets, mechanical drawings, and bill of materials
Generate ideas and solutions for new products, as well as engineering support for current products
Comply with regulatory requirements and company design control procedures
Provide engineering support to manufacturing and operations
Assist in document control and maintenance of design history files
Work closely with Project Management from order entry to product shipment
Complete timelines in accordance with a published schedule
Attend project meetings to keep schedule(s) on track
Work with the development team to ensure best practices are properly implemented on newly developed products
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen
B.S.M.E. required
Candidate must have 10 years of experience designing mechanical systems
Experience in design of mechanical systems for enclosures, shelters, and power equipment is a plus
Proficient in the operation of Autodesk's latest version of Inventor 3D or equivalent in SolidWorks (minimum of 7 years)
Technically proficient with the ability to multi-task and follow directions accordingly
Possess strong written and oral communication skills
Solid working knowledge of regulatory requirements for mechanical systems, structures, and product development
Experience with electromechanical systems integration
