Essential job duties and responsibilities



  • Provide support to Payment Operations team and maintain and organize historical departmental files and reports

  • Monitor daily processing activity reports, and research, report on, and resolve exceptions and anomalies

  • Compile reports to analyze and understand payment costs and processing trends.

  • Monitor interchange qualifications and authorization approval rates to ensure optimal performance across all programs and payment processors

  • Assist in the creation of periodic presentations of analysis projects to peers and senior management.

  • Assist with obtaining Merchant IDs as needed and manage existing information needed for payment processing

  • Obtain and manage internal access to online payment processor reporting sites and tools.

  • Research and respond to ad hoc payments issues as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills Required



  • Strong deductive reasoning skills; can infer the complete picture using information gathered from multiple sources

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Enjoys identifying patterns or recognizing aberrations; likes to get to the bottom of the story indicated by the clues they surface

  • Takes calculated risks and learns from mistakes

  • Speaks in a clear, poised and convincing manner

  • Writes in a professional style that remains succinct, polite and on-point.

  • Demonstrates accuracy with particular attention to detail in a work setting that requires effective time-management skills and strict adherence to deadlines


Experience and Education



  • Strong analytical skills

  • Good business sense

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • 1-3 years of experience within the payment/financial services industry

  • Strong deductive reasoning skills; can infer the complete picture using information gathered from multiple sources

  • Proficiency with data analysis tools, such as Excel and MS Access, plus good computer skills and the ability to read, and understand reports of all kinds.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with limited supervision
