Solano Community College invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach fire technology courses. As an instructor, you will be responsible for teaching introductory fire science and levels I and II firefighting courses, including Fundamentals of Fire Technology, Fire Protection Chemistry, Safety and Emergency Action, Systems and Equipment, Service Operations, Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Substance Management, Wild land Fire Control, Emergency Care of Sick and Injured, Fire Service Principles, Pump Operations, Fire Prevention, and Fire Service Instructor.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in the discipline or associate's degree with six years of full-time experience. Additionally, they must hold appropriate certification by the State Fire Marshal's Office associated with the class(es) being taught. We are looking for individuals who possess a commitment to encouraging learning and an enthusiastic attitude towards teaching, as well as sensitivity to students from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
