Job Summary

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled professional to serve as the Executive Director of the Division of Government Affairs. This critical role will play a key part in shaping the Agency's legislative and policy agenda, working closely with the Commissioner, Agency partners, and the Mayor's Office.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective legislative and policy strategies to advance HPD's goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with elected officials, advocates, and agency partners.
  • Analyze and respond to relevant State legislation, ensuring that HPD's interests are represented.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to develop, draft, advocate for, and implement HPD's local, State, and federal legislative agenda.

About the Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience working on legislative issues or intergovernmental affairs at the local level, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility, creativity, and the ability to work well under pressure.
