Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Is looking for a board-certified Psychiatrist to serve as medical director for our inpatient and outpatient mental health primary and co-occurring substance use facility in Scurry Texas. Experience in inpatient psychiatric setting preferred. This is a collaborative role that works alongside the other providers, clinical director, director of nursing, and all other treatment team staff to provide the most appropriate care to our client population. On-site patient care on a weekly basis, with two full days preferred. Ability to manage high acuity mental health presentations and substance use primary needs, as well as collaboration with other on site providers and oversight of nurse practitioners, in the initiation of medications, aggressive management of ongoing or exacerbated symptoms by psychiatric intervention, completion of peer reviews for continued stay as needed, collaboration and engagement with our quality assurance and compliance team, and appropriate documentation and review, as well as initiation and review of laboratory results, in compliance with program policies and procedures and state licensing and accrediting bodies. We are seeking someone to join a passionate team dedicated to the service of the clients for which we provide care. The medical director is required to maintain all customary state and federal narcotics and controlled substances numbers and licenses, without restriction, including registration of DEA license at our facility within 60-days of contract commencement.

Any candidate should also have a passion for and dedication to assisting clients with mental health disorders and co-occurring substance use. Experience with inpatient psychiatric care and patients with high acuity mental health, including the initiation and ongoing management of antipsychotic medications, required.

Certification and Licensing:

Valid state of Texas MD License
