We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Systems Engineer in our Department 22 Engineering team!

Rated the best at what we do, RI&S is involved in developing innovative technologies from inception to prototype for DoD missions. Our innovative technologies span over a wide range of products including EO/IR design, EW techniques and protected communication systems. It involves integration of many subsystems and its testing to validate its performance. Demonstration of successful operation of such system involve installation of products on the relevant platforms including flight testing to verify its expected performance. Our researchers often wear multiple hats from design, development and integration of the prototype products to direct customer interactions that may lead to new business opportunities.

Required Skills:
10+ years of relevant work experience
Experience in areas of EO/IR products
Experience in areas of systems and subsystem levels knowledge about EO/IR product integration
Familiar with deriving requirements of an EO/IR product from customer CONOPS and high level operational performance and its flow down
Working knowledge of EOIR performance
Working knowledge for platform installation and integration of the EO/IR system
Skilled at anticipating problems, working with customer and the team to address any issues concerning derived requirements, changes and planning to mitigate them
Experience working in cross discipline Integrated Product Line (IPTL) teams and in classified environments
Occasional travel to off-site locations (CONUS and OCONUS)
US citizenship is required as this role requires an active and in-scope DoD Secret U.S. security clearance as of Day 1 of employment
Desired Skills:
Working knowledge for integration of EO/IR product at the system level and sub-systems levels
Experience in different components of the EO/IR products and its performance
Experience in analyzing EO/IR product and its performance
Experience in leading teams for flight testing and integration
Familiar in the use of image capture and video generation for Hardware In the Loop (HWIL) testing
Skilled in DOORS or Next Gen DOORS
Microsoft Office applications, to include MS Visio and MS Project
Required Education:
10 + years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM related discipline; or 8 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in a STEM related discipline
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
