Main Responsibilities
- Plan work and purchase materials
- Assist Project Manager with daily project duties including material billing preparations
- Value engineering
- Expedite material procurement
- Approval, and delivery as necessary to promote accurate and efficient project construction
- Field survey construction sites before and during construction phases as required
- Preparing and tracking all necessary submittals
- Obtaining required material certifications
- Pursuing and recovering fair compensation for all changes in scope while optimizing cash flow
- Communicate with field personnel on installation shop drawings
- Regularly commute to field locations
- Be a technical expert and provide advice to colleagues
- Evaluating multiple solutions while considering technical and financial impacts
Education
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
Skills
- At least five (5) years engineering experience
- Excellent communication skills
- General knowledge of computer software such as Auto CAD, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, Primavera Project Planner, JDE, etc.
- Experience with project planning, scheduling, and estimating
- The ability to prepare subcontractor scopes of work, familiarity with pricing, purchasing, and preparation of purchase orders for materials and equipment, and the ability to read and understand drawings
- Capability of growing into larger roles in the future
