JOB TITLE: Front-End Web Designer

REPORTS TO: Senior Digital Designer

JOB PURPOSE: The role of Front-End Web Designer is to work within the Marketing Department to build and deploy approved mockups to functional use. This role will be working heavily with the Senior and Junior Designers, collaborating with content marketing team and their work will be reviewed by the Marketing Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build websites and new web pages in accordance to approved mockups, creating a finished product that is as close as possible to the approved design
• Edit existing pages for technical optimization
• Work directly with design teams to execute product that is within approved mockup standards, communicating with team if design changes are required
• Maintain ongoing efforts to improve website usability
• Build websites that are optimized for multiple screen sizes, particularly focusing on mobile experience
• Review completed work and page scoring tools to check for technical errors before publishing to maintain high quality production
• Troubleshoot website and hosting issues
• Develop and test solutions for complex problems related to bringing approved wireframes to fruition within website test environments
• Track and review user behavior on-site to identify areas for UI/UX enhancement
• Expand UI/UX design capabilities and knowledge through company-sponsored professional development opportunities
• Respect other team members by consistently hitting established deadlines
• Review emerging design trends and bring new ideas to the team
• Adhere to established brand guidelines
• Communicate escalated technical issues to team and potentially Technology team
• Communicate with team members to keep up to date on tasks and deadlines
• Any other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Working knowledge of CSS, HTML, and Javascript
• Highly proficient working with WordPress CMS
• Highly proficient within Adobe Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and XD
• Understanding of Google Analytics and Google Search Console
• Understanding of best technical SEO practices
• Proven UI/UX design skills
• Excellent problem solver and troubleshooting skills
• Solid communication skills with quick response and ability to communicate with email, chat, video and in-person meetings
• High attention to detail
• Strong ability to multi-task

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to work in conjunction with other team members
• Ability to communicate via phone, text & email in a professional manner
• Understand CSS, HTML, Javascript
