Inventory Specialist at Walgreens - Job Overview
As an Inventory and Customer Service Leader, your responsibilities include implementing, overseeing, and instructing on best practices and standard operating procedures for store-wide inventory in both the front end and pharmacy. You will be involved in managing pharmacy inventory tasks such as receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns while promoting on-shelf availability. Additionally, you'll ensure the accuracy of planograms and apply asset protection techniques throughout the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle discrepancies related to warehouse and vendor claims.
- Oversee store opening and closing duties in the absence of store management, including cash handling and preparing store areas for business.
- Engage with customers to resolve issues and inquiries, ensuring a pleasant service experience.
- Guide team members on inventory processes involving vendors and warehouses.
- Validate and enter pharmacy shipments, manage vendor returns, and handle price adjustments.
- Support ordering processes for the front end and pharmacy, maintaining accurate inventory counts.
- Assist in organizing inventory systems and preparing for physical inventory activities.
- Encourage staff participation in package delivery and inventory functions.
- Act as leader on duty when necessary, managing sales transactions and ensuring policy adherence.
Training and Personal Development
- Participate in training sessions and complete required e-learning modules.
- Obtain and maintain necessary pharmacy licenses or certifications.
Communications
- Liaise between management and team members, assigning tasks and addressing any issues.
