Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Scale Operator/Bookkeeper to join our team. The dual position provides support to customer accounts and office operations of the location, along with assisting in the scale room process.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for weighing trucks as they arrive at location.
• Obtain grain samples using necessary equipment and grades grain accordingly.
• Communicate the grain and grade to the grain attendants on each load. Communicates and works closely with the Location Manager to ensure day-to-day grain activities run efficiently.
• Partner with Grain Accounting for accurate and efficient accounting of grain. Contacts customers regularly informing them of dumping hours, potential dumping delays, and market opportunities.
• Manage all aspects of financial record keeping and ensuring accuracy in financial statements, including maintaining assembly sheets, daily reports, account transfers and billing.
• Process incoming inventory into the accounting system, invoicing out completed orders and delivery tickets, applying payments on customer accounts, scanning expense invoices and coding in accounting system, and entering customer prepayments.
• Maintain awareness of the location’s accounts receivable including monitoring and posting a monthly no-credit and over-limit credit report and compiling daily bank deposits.
• Manage daily office operations and ensuring a smooth workflow, verifying employee timecards for manager approval, maintaining office equipment, ordering office supplies, and answering the telephone.
• Stay informed of current company programs and other information necessary to handle grain accurately and efficiently.
• Provide daily current market prices to customers and other pertinent market information.
• Keep grain room, scale area, scale, and grading equipment clean and in optimum working condition.
• Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures and maintaining a safe and clean work environment, including compliance with US DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements, the Agtegra Drug Free Workplace Policy, OSHA regulations, and the Agtegra Vehicle Policy and Fleet Safety Program.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• English Proficiency.
• Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts.

Preferred Qualifications
• One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in agriculture
