Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Store Associate to join our team at Michaels in Bridgeport, CT. As a Store Associate, you will play a key role in maintaining the overall look and feel of the store, delivering exceptional customer service, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain high standards of store cleanliness and recovery, adhering to brand promises.
• Deliver friendly customer service, helping customers shop the store and find what they need.
• Collect and dispose of trash, dust and damp mop floors, move equipment and products for cleaning, and use assigned materials and equipment to clean assigned areas.
• Deep clean key areas of the store, including bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, and high-traffic areas.
• Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly, notify supervisor of supply needs, and take initiative to complete tasks.
• Complete all tasks assigned by supervisor, perform tasks in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines, and maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers.

Other Duties:

• Provide fast and friendly check-out experience, execute cash handling to standards, engage customers on benefits of rewards programs, and complete enrollments.
• Assist with omnichannel processes, participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes, support shrink and safety programs, and adhere to standard operating procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Retail and/or cleaning experience preferred.

Work Environment:

• Ability to remain standing for long periods, move throughout the store, and regularly bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch.
• Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
• Public retail store setting with climate-controlled areas and some outdoor work if assigned.
