Overview:
Performs mammographic examinations including special procedure examinations under the direction of the department supervisor and radiologist.
Qualifications:
Education
1) High School graduate or equivalent.
2) Graduate of an approved radiologic technology program.
Experience
1) Preference given to those with mammography and bone density experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
1) Demonstrates the ability to function as a team member and to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with patients, staff members and physicians.
License/Certification/Registration
1) Registered with the ARRT-Mammography in good standing and maintain compliance with continuing education requirements.
2) Maintains ACR requirements of 200 mammograms every two years and 15 CEC in mammography every three years.
3) Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
4) Registered with the ARRT in Bone Density preferred.
