Founded in 1957, Prestressed Concrete Construction, LLC is a trusted manufacturer of precast/prestressed concrete based in Newton, Kansas. For over 60 years, we've provided durable, high-performance concrete products for bridges, schools, detention centers, and more. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Business Development/Estimator to support both our project estimating and customer growth efforts.

About the Role

The Business Development/Estimator at Prestressed Concrete Construction, LLC serves a dual purpose: preparing detailed cost estimates for projects and actively supporting the company’s growth through business development efforts. This person will analyze blueprints and project documentation to generate accurate bids and, when not estimating, will focus on building and maintaining client relationships through outreach and travel. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both technical work and face-to-face networking.

What You'll Do
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to prepare accurate time, cost, material, and labor estimates
• Estimate both conceptual and fully developed designs
• Review project requirements to determine scope and estimating needs
• Prepare and submit estimates for bids, ensuring they are complete and ready at least 24 hours prior to submission deadlines
• Maintain records of past budgets, bids, and completed projects to improve future estimating practices
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and internal teams to adjust estimates and clarify project expectations
• Identify and recommend design alternatives based on cost-efficiency, quality, and material availability
• Travel to meet with current and prospective clients, helping to build and strengthen business relationships
• Represent Prestressed Concrete Construction at meetings, site visits, and industry events to promote the company and uncover new opportunities
• Follow internal estimating procedures and support other departments when needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For
• A strong attendance record and commitment to working safely
• Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
• Experience in estimating, project management, or a related technical field
• Strong analytical thinking and comfort with numbers and technical documents
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office SuiteAttention to detail and dedication to delivering accurate, high-quality work
• Education in construction management, business, or a related field
• An understanding of or experience in the construction industry
