Job Description:



The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the inside and outside plant, maintenance, and technology strategy, of the telecommunications infrastructure. This role involves managing a team of NOC, engineering, and I&R supervisors, making strategic decisions, and ensuring that the organization s telecommunications technology infrastructure is efficient, secure, and aligned with business goals. This role plays a pivotal part in defining and executing the technology roadmap for an organization s communications infrastructure.





Job Duties:

  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth expertise in telecommunications technology, including network design, infrastructure management, outside plant design, and emerging trends.

  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills to effectively guide, motivate, and mentor a team of supervisors, setting goals, and providing guidance and support to achieve their career path and leadership growth objectives.

  • Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the Capital Expenditure and Expense Budgets for Central Office and Outside Plant. Understanding the business side of telecommunications, including cost management, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation.

  • Compliance: Ensure that the telecommunications plant complies with industry regulations and standards.

  • Technology Upgrades: Stay up to date with the latest telecommunications technologies and recommend upgrades or enhancements to improve the network s performance.

  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment, including switches, routers, servers, and other network components. Generate regular reports on plant performance, network utilization, and cost analysis.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive telecommunications technology strategy that aligns with the organization s business objectives.


Job Requirements:



  • Minimum 10 years of experience in telecommunications operations and management, including experience in a managerial role.

  • Bachelor s degree in a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of both inside and outside telecommunications plant technology.

  • Proficiency in project management principles for planning and executing outside plant and network upgrades or expansions including, budgeting, resource allocation, and progress tracking.

  • Proficiency in budgeting management and cost control.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues, address complex technical issues, and make informed decisions swiftly and effectively.

  • Exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with team members, co-workers, and executive staff.

  • The ability to adapt to new technologies and industry trends.

  • Actively participate in a team environment and practice the Corporate and Spirit of 46 values.

  • Valid California driver s license and favorable DMV record.




Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

  • Must be available to work overtime, varied shifts.

  • Ability to work in temperature extremes ranging from +20o to +105o
