At San Pasqual Fiduciary Trust Company, we're dedicated to providing impartial fiduciary services to our clients. As a leading trust company in California and Nevada, we focus on trust administration and management, without selling investment products.
We're seeking a skilled Trust Officer to join our team in Downtown Los Angeles. This is a full-time position involving private trusts, with a HYBRID office/remote schedule. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate technical strengths and contribute to day-to-day client operations.
The role requires attention to detail to comply with policies, procedures, and trust accounting practices. Prior knowledge of trust administration is essential, along with excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as Trust Officer on various trusts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and governing instruments.
- On-board new trusts, reviewing and interpreting documents to identify potential issues, marshalling assets, and preparing internal account set-up forms.
- Apply principles of the California Probate Code and understand tax implications of various kinds of trusts.
- Establish and manage client relationships through interaction with grantors and beneficiaries.
- Determine beneficiary distribution amounts and frequency, presenting discretionary distributions for Trust Committee approval.
- Perform annual reviews of assigned trusts, evaluating performance of investment advisors.
- Establish relationships with attorneys, CPAs, and other professional advisors to assure clients receive quality service.
