Part-time Research Support Assistant- Weed Ecology Lab - Lowry

Penn State's Department of Plant Science seeks to hire a part-time research assistant in the weed ecology lab to assist with experiments in both the field and greenhouse. Duties include collection and processing of plant and soil samples, data collection, data entry, and set up and maintenance of experiments.

Research projects will address key questions within weed ecology: such as 1) how do belowground traits influence crop and weed competition; 2) how may changes to precipitation associated with climate change influence weed management efficacy; and 3) how can we enhance the efficacy of ecologically based weed management practices?  

Requirements:  Applicant must be able to work weekdays the entire summer.  A driver's license is required (but personal vehicle NOT required). Must be willing to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors. Must be organized, able to work independently as well as within a group, demonstrate attention to details, and ability to follow instructions.

This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
