Responsibilities include:
• Provide care and supervision to residents (measure vital signs, injections, skin checks, medication and incontinence management, communication with health care professionals, responsible parties and administrators, diabetes control)
• Be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of residents (update appraisal needs and follow up with facility staff to ensure consistency and accuracy)
• Assist with medication, centrally storing, distributing, and training
• Be available for all care plans with families on an ongoing basis
• Arranges and assists with medical and dental care including appointments
• Maintains and supervises house rules for overall protection of residents
• Inspect MAR to make sure complete and correct at all times for all residents (order medications, communicate with pharmacy and MD when needed)
• Follow up and communicate with responsible parties and all MD orders to make sure in compliance with orders
• Must be on call when an emergency call comes into NURSE extension and be available to return and take calls after hours
• Assists in continuous observation of residents with regards to their physical/mental/emotional wellbeing (During hours and after hours as needed)
• Provides first aid and CPR measures when needed
• Notifies administrator of all occurances with the residents, measure residents' vital signs daily or as needed, notifies MD when needed in case of abnormality
• Check for skin break down, notify MD and Administrator as needed
• Document in PCC (Point Click Care) all incidents, assessments and care plans
• Check, create and submit all incident and death reports to the Department of Social Services
. Requirements:
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current and active LVN license in the state of California
• TB clearance
• Health screening
• First aid and CPR certification
• Fingerprint clearance from FBI & DOJ
• At least 18 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months working in a skilled nursing or assisted living facility (work with demented, geriatric or disoriented residents preferred)
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn state and federal regulations governing nursing care
• Strong written, verbal and listening communication skills
• Excellent organization skills
• Exhibit empathetic communication style with residents, families and co-workers
• Valid driver license, good driving record and current auto insurance
• Able to read, write and understand English
• Demonstrate passion and ability to work with the senior population and with people with Alzheimer's and other dementia related disorders
• Knowledge of licensing compliance, RCFE compliance, Title 22
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $34.00 - $37.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
