Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the creation of system layout drawings or complete detailing at the direction of the Engineering Manager and Mechanical Engineers.
- Responsible for the creation of new AutoCAD and Inventor models for Oakland Automation products.
- Support modification/revisions of existing drawings as need to support manufacturing and customers.
- Participates in drawing reviews within the Mechanical Engineering team.
- Supports maintaining and organizing internal CAD drawings on the company network and Vault system.
- Develop equipment specifications for the internal mechanical design and/or build by outside vendors; ensure the selected suppliers follow Oakland Automation processes and meet project quality and delivery expectations, as well as maintaining the appropriate budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Design or other closely related engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of on-the-job design and engineering experience related to customer machinery and/or capital equipment.
- 2+ years of on-the-job experience with Inventor, AutoCAD, or other comparable CAD design software.
- 1+ years of on-the-job experience in a project-build manufacturing environment.
- Ability to demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines without endangering the integrity of the equipment or compromising safety requirements.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and suppliers while maintaining a positive working relationship.
- Ability to work onsite within the Oakland Industries offices or at customer locations as required.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs as well as Google applications such as Gmail and Docs.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical design software applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged time spent sitting at a desk and working on the computer.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
