Supervise and monitor inmates and defendants in Roanoke City and Roanoke County- Salem.
Position open until filled with weekly reviews
To provide information to the courts to assist with the bail decision and to provide supervision and services as ordered by a judicial officer to pretrial defendants.
Supervise and monitor inmates and defendants in Roanoke City and Roanoke County- Salem.
Position open until filled with weekly reviews
To provide information to the courts to assist with the bail decision and to provide supervision and services as ordered by a judicial officer to pretrial defendants.
- Perform those duties required pursuant to §19.2-152.4:3 of the Code of Virginia, as amended.
- Employ approved interview techniques and assessment procedures necessary to determine the defendants appropriateness for consideration for pretrial release.
- Review motor vehicle and criminal records, medical records, treatment reports and social histories to assess appropriate levels of supervision.
- Supervise and monitor inmates and defendants in Alleghany County.
- Apply approved risk assessment tools to determine levels of appropriate mental health, psychological, or substance abuse, and social competency intervention and services.
- Supervise and monitor defendant progress completing required intervention and sanctions imposed by the court.
- Complete required breath testing and urine screening. Determine probable substance abuse behavioral patterns.
- Prepare and compose written reports to the court concerning the probationer's progress and adjustment to probation and testify in Court as may be necessary.
- Maintain orderly files and case records.
- Fully utilize state-approved and guided computerized programs (PTCC) to track and monitor offender progress.
- Be effective in handling confrontational individuals.
- Be effective in working with people individually and in group setting.
- Such other duties as may be assigned by the Director.
